The global race for an effective COVID-19 vaccine dramatizes a vaccine’s role in preventing the spread of highly contagious diseases.  While the world waits, medical experts advise an early annual flu vaccine as a precaution against a potential second wave of COVID-19 this fall.  To help businesses protect staff and remain in compliance, Mobile Health provides easy online scheduling of vaccinations and titers, along with digital proof of immunity.

National Immunization Awareness Month

Departments of health and industry regulators require healthcare agencies, schools and public health organizations to present proof of a properly vaccinated workforce. Consequently, home health agencies, nursing homes and long-term care facilities, hospitals, colleges and universities are among businesses subject to these mandates.

National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is a good reminder to review immunization mandates and staff medical records. Without proof of immunity for workers, businesses risk fines for non-compliance, loss of accreditation, and most severely, deadly disease spread among the vulnerable populations they serve.

The CDC-sponsored NIAM highlights the importance of vaccination for people of all ages.

Proof of Immunity

Mobile Health electronic medical records provide digital proof of immunity for properly vaccinated workers so businesses can avoid the consequences of non-compliance.

An employee’s proof of immunity documents state their immunization history. However, for missing documentation, a titer (blood draw) determines the count of antibodies present. A count below a certain number means a lack of immunity to a specific antigen (virus). That means those employees require a vaccine to prove immunity.

Most regulatory bodies accept both up-to-date vaccinations and titers as proofs of immunity.

Scheduling Vaccines & Titers

Mobile Health provides a wide range of vaccines and titers. Some vaccines are packaged together:

  • MMR (Protects against Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • MMRV (Protects against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella)
  • TDaP (Protects against Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
  • Td (Protects against Tetanus, Diphtheria)

Individually, vaccines protect against a specific disease:

  • Varicella (chicken pox)
  • Hepatitis B (Dose 1, 2 or 3)
  • Seasonal Flu

Titers (blood draws) for specific diseases determine an employee’s immunity:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella

Employers can schedule vaccine and titer appointments online for administration at their nearest Mobile Health location in New York or nationwide.
